The design of the Master Course in cross-media Journalism is based on a bottom-up participatory approach and it involved a wide range of practitioners.
The Zero version of Master Course has been informed by:
- An Administrative Questionnaire aimed at fully understand the legal and administrative requirements needed for the activation of a first level professional Master course in cross-media journalism by each and all the Universities involved in project;
- Seven in-depth questions on aspects of the scientific and thematic areas (the seven questions are available in English and French);
- Good practices in the field of digital and cross-media journalism
University teachers from Tunisian and European partner universities, professional journalists, representative of the labour market and new media experts have been involved in the discussion with the aim to work together to apply good practices and innovation in the field and shape a joint curricula in cross-media journalism taking into account the needs of the labour market.
The Master Course focuses on the integration between traditional competencies and instruments of journalism and innovative instruments of digital journalism. The students will be trained:
- on new and innovative information technologies
- on new competencies on the “information architecture” (to develop contents in relation to technology used and to the public addressed)
- on new and innovative way of involving “users”
- on entrepreneurial journalism (new digital publishing companies)
The length of the Master Course is of 2 year and corresponds to 120 ECTS.
The Master Course Outline has been approved during the meeting of the Scientific Committee at the Rectorate of the University La Manouba on March 15, 2015.
